More about our Pressure Switches
Pressure switches are electromechanical devices that activate or deactivate an electrical circuit when fluid or gas pressure reaches a preset threshold, providing automatic control and protection for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, coolant, oil, and compressed air systems in mining vehicles and industrial equipment. Pressure switch applications in mining equipment include engine oil pressure warning circuits, hydraulic system pressure monitoring, air brake system low-pressure warning, coolant system pressure sensing, and compressed air system control.
Pressure switches are available in a wide range of operating pressure ranges, process connection thread types (commonly 1/8" NPT or M10x1.0 for automotive applications), electrical connection types, and housing materials to match the fluid, pressure range, and environmental conditions of each specific application. Normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) switch configurations serve different circuit design requirements — oil pressure warning circuits typically use normally closed switches that open on low pressure to illuminate a warning lamp.
Minespec NSW stocks pressure switches for common mining vehicle, automotive, and industrial equipment applications. Proper pressure switch selection must account for the specific pressure range, fluid compatibility, thread size, and electrical rating of your application. Our team can assist with specifying the correct pressure switch for your specific system requirements.
