More about our Anderson Plugs

Anderson plugs — the SB Series connectors from Anderson Power Products — are the Australian standard for high-current DC power connections across mining, automotive, and renewable energy applications. Originally developed for industrial forklift battery connections, the Anderson SB Series has become ubiquitous in Australian vehicles and equipment thanks to its genderless design, high current capacity, silver-plated copper contacts for excellent conductivity, and polycarbonate housings rated for up to 600V DC. Available in SB50 (50A), SB120 (120A), SB175 (175A), and SB350 (350A) ratings, the Anderson range covers auxiliary power connections from small accessories through to main battery disconnect and large-scale energy storage systems.

The genderless design of Anderson SB connectors means both halves of a connection are identical, eliminating polarity confusion and reducing the number of individual parts that need to be stocked. Colour-coded housings indicate voltage levels — grey housings are standard for automotive 12V and 24V DC applications, preventing inadvertent cross-connection between circuits of different voltages. Silver-plated copper contacts deliver low contact resistance and high conductivity even after repeated connection cycles under high current loads.

Minespec NSW stocks genuine Anderson SB connectors across the full current range alongside the associated contacts and accessories required for professional installation. Anderson plugs are used throughout our customers' mine-spec vehicle builds for auxiliary battery connections, dual battery systems, equipment power feeds, and trailer power connections.
