More about our P-Clamps
P-clamps (P-clips or cushion-lined loop clamps) are the standard fastening method for securing conduit and cable bundles to vehicle chassis and body structure in automotive and industrial applications. The P-clamp's simple design — a metal ring with a rubber or plastic cushion liner and a flat mounting tab — provides a secure, vibration-dampening grip on round conduit or cable bundles while the mounting tab bolts to the vehicle structure. Correct use of P-clamps throughout a harness installation is a key indicator of professional-quality workmanship and is essential for long-term harness reliability.
P-clamps are available in a range of internal diameters to suit different conduit and cable bundle sizes, and in different materials and liner types for different environmental conditions. Stainless steel P-clamps with EPDM rubber liners are preferred for corrosive environments, while standard steel P-clamps with plastic or rubber liners suit most automotive applications. Correct P-clamp installation requires the clamp to grip firmly without crushing the conduit or cable, with the mounting fastener properly torqued to prevent the clamp from working loose under vibration.
Minespec NSW stocks P-clamps across a range of sizes suitable for automotive, mining vehicle, and industrial harness installation applications. P-clamps should be installed at regular intervals (typically 300–500mm on unsupported runs) to prevent cable chafing and harness movement — our range ensures you can source the right sizes for a complete, professional installation.
